Well I started the BBS as "The Olde West" on my own home grown software I wrote and it ran off 2 floppies at that time. In 1985 I switch to Phoenix RCS for the BBS and ran on that until 2000, then I had to switch over to Synchronet.
Some time in 1986-87 a guy named Larry Houbre out of Mass. wrote a frontend mailer for just about any BBS but started it on Phoneix called PreNM (Pre Net mailer). It allowed a menu to be presented to the user and the user could select any BBS on the list so I started running multiple BBS with themes... like The Old West was for files, forums etc. GameMaster's Realm was a hard drive dedicated to online doors only, then others for various things. GameMaster's Realm is what I keep up and running. I still have The Old West and own the domain oldewest.net, but I only use it as a DNS server these days :)
Anyway, I also run BBSFiles.com, and Renegadesbbs.net along with a few others that are game related in nature...
