High Velocity Software (HVS) ported TradeWars 2002 v2 to the Major BBS system from 1992 to late 1997. According to Gary Martin, he met Jeff Moriarty on MajorNet after struggling to create a Major BBS (MBBS) version for a year and a half. Moriarty agreed to a partnership that would allow HVS to create and sell the game, paying Martech a royalty. HVS did not own any rights to the game.
