Although it works as a single-player game, Stars! really shines in multi-player mode. And the more players, the merrier; Stars! lets as many as 16 gamers go at it via local-area network, the Internet, or even E-mail, and a single game can last weeks. Stars! represents the other end of the spectrum from Spaceward Ho! - this is as complex (and, sometimes, complicated) a game of galactic conquest as you'll find. But fear not: it also has an amazingly rich and detailed tutorial that walks you hands-on through every aspect of the game. If you're a fan of Internet and electronic bulletin-board space strategy games like Tradewars or VGA Planets, then Stars! is right up your alley.
