[edit] History
Founded in 1978 by a former truck driver and fleet manager, Multi Service was established to provide a better solution for over-the-road fuel payments. The company pioneered pre-purchase authorization for fleet transactions, requiring drivers to submit vehicle identification numbers and odometer readings before transactions could take place. In recent years, Multi Service was acquired by Shell USA, further expanding its market presence.
[edit] Services
Multi Service's primary offering is the Multi Service Fuel Card, a dedicated fleet card accepted at over 7,000 truck stops across the United States. The company provides:
Fleet fuel management solutions
Transaction management services
Credit services for trucking companies
Aviation fuel payment solutions through partnerships like the TITAN Aviation co-brand card
24/7 customer support for fleet managers and drivers
[edit] Technology
The company offers online account management tools and a mobile app that provides fleet managers with real-time access to account information, transaction data, and card controls. In 2023, Multi Service launched a redesigned website with enhanced features for trucking customers.
[edit] Corporate History
During the 1990s, Multi Service diversified its operations beyond fuel cards. In 1994, the company purchased Metropolis BBS from Gary Martin and expanded it into GamePort, a multi-state BBS network active in college towns throughout the Midwest. In 1998, Multi Service further expanded its gaming division by purchasing Legends of the Red Dragon and TEOS from developer Seth Robinson.
