From TradeWars Museum
"So I assume the command line is your standard syntax?" - Yep. You know it.
Make things easy for people to use. The calling syntax is the following:
CRYSTAL datapath percentage [/ALL] [/repeat[x]] [/nomsg] [/nolog]
DataPath is obviously the drive/directory that has your trade Wars 2002 files.
Percentage is a number between 1 and 100. This is used to determine how
many people are killed on the planet. IE: if you enter 50, then half of the
people from each area will be killed, if you enter 100, then ALL of the people
will be killed.
/ALL is an optional switch. Like with my other programs, if you give this
switch, the entity can appear in ANY sector. If you leave it off the command
line, then it wont be able to show up in FedSpace, Ferengal's sector, the
StarPort 0's sectors, etc. After I was done coding this I didn't know why
you'd need this switch since none of those places (except for the Ferrengi
sector) can have a planet.. :) Oh well. So I guess you can use it if you want
to hit Ferrengal or if you want it to hit FedSpace and give the players a
break or something.
/REPEAT[x] is a repeat factor. If you want the entity to hit 10 different
sectors, then use the command /REPEAT[10] oh the command line.
/NOLOG Using this will turn off writes to the SysOp log.
/NOMSG will turn off the message to the user of the ravaged planet.
If it's a corporation planet, then all corporation members get the message.
A sample message is as follows:
Reports of The Crystalline Entity were reported in sector 735
The planet La La Land was attacked.
2000 colonists were lost in the attack.
The message is sent from the trader's shipboard computers. I think that makes
it a little more believable.
If you have any new ideas or features for this or another program I've done,
please send them to me! I'd love to hear from you. You can either call my BBS
or send me a postcard or letter VIA surface mail.

So far I haven't gotten jack [poop] for donations for all the [darn] programs I've
written for Trade Wars. If this continues I'm just going to stop doing TW
stuff. I am currently working on some registration routines. I'm not writing
these things for my health ya know.
And for the people who even give a [poop], I decided to skip my video digitizer
and go for a faster modem. So you guys can call AOS to get the programs and
not go in debt with your phone company. And so I can start calling LD and
uploading my programs when I first release them so you people can get them
faster. Gee, ain't that nice of me?
So send any money you feel the programs are worth. Or if you own/run a
company, donate hardware to my BBS (like a 19.2 kbp modem!) and get your
company/store name and address posted on my board AND in my doc files!!!
How that for some good advertising? I think it's worth it. And if you do
donate hardware, you'll get the next 5 releases free that require a
registration to unlock features. So I think you get something good in return.
Send any donations or hardware to the address given shortly. And for hardware,
don't forget to include any information you want added to my board/DOCs about
your store, like phone number, address, what you sell/do, etc. A full ANSI
advertisement would be great to.

The following people (accualy PERSON) deserves thanks for sending money in
for one or more of my programs:
11/02/92 : Mike Fergione
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
That should be enough. Now the stuff no one reads.. If you like this or
any of the other programs I've done that you have or have seen, please send
me something for my time and testing. I currently don't have a "real" job and
my only income is from my BBS and my programming. Do you know how hard it is
for a 21 year old computer nerd to get a job in a small hick town?
Send any donations, or your own programs that you've written to be placed on
my BBS to:
David Proper
927 Maple Avenue, NW
New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663-1522
Or if you just want to check out my BBS, which has all my publicly released
programs online, give my BBS a call:

Yea, I also have a Sound Blaster Pro so I can do any audio samples for the
users that they may want.
A quick little thank you goes out to Dan Roseen, SysOp of Nite Owl BBS
206-631-4949. He gave the TW file formats to one of my users that called his
system looking for them. Thanks Dan, we need more SysOps like that who are
willing to help out there users and other SysOps. (You wouldn't believe the
[cowpoo] in this area between the local systems. It's unbelievable)
And of course thanks to Jason Boyd for writing the text file that had the
file formats.
Guess that's the end of this file. Increase the peace. Later.
