RSS Advisary Board chairman, famous blogger and author, Rogers Cadenhead has been a fan of TradeWars for many years. He has written about both the Sherrick/Morris version and the Martin/Pritchett version on his famous blog, Workbench. From 1982 to 1986, he hosted Parallax BBS in Dallas, Texas, which is claimed to be the first BBS to offer BBS door games.
In 2006, seeking a partner in the development of TradeWars Tournament, Pritchett approached Cadenhead because of his expertise in web-publishing. Cadenhead expressed interest in the partnership, stating that he had been disappointed by the failure of TW: DM a few years earlier. Pritchett offered Cadenhead part ownership of the game and IP and expressed interest in forming an equal partnership. After several conversations, however, it was agreed that the project was beyond Cadenhead's committment level at the time, and Pritchett instead entered into an agreement with another game company to develop TWT.
